About Him
Last year I decided to change a few of my systems and forms of networking so that I looked less into 'networking events' and focused more on relationship building. The results, both personally and professionally, have been profound. It's been a great year and I've been blessed to better know some really great people.
So I was invited to this wedding industry networking event last night and I almost went...for several reasons, but the foremost was that it was formatted in a 'speed dating' style where you sit down with everyone for a few minutes for some 'speed networking.' Not that I thought a few quick minutes with these people would really provide deep and meaningful connections or stimulate the desire for others to want to build anything with me, but more so because it simply sounded fun.
I didn't end up going. But I had prepared a little 3×5 card to hand people instead of my business card, with the Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Want to Get to Know Me. Again, not that I was expecting much from this, but thought it'd be fun and better for people to get to know me better once they went home and read my fabulous reasoning behind wanting to know myself. My ideal partner is someone who can make me laugh even in the worst of situations; someone who brings up my mood when I'm feeling really down. He isn't the sexiest man out there, but he is pretty attractive in his own way. I don't pay much attention to looks; it's mostly secondary to me. Personality is what reels me in.
Someone funny. Stupid jokes, bad jokes, it doesn't matter, as long as you have a personality. Someone who knows about the world and has some sort of passion in life, who motivates me when I wanna give up. You want a companion who you can trust in life, not some crazy wild mofo who's just interested in sex and is never there when you really need him.
He would never get bored of hearing about my day and vice-versa. He would love to lay in bed for hours just talking and holding hands.
